Britney Hen Party Dance Class Brighton

Everyone who was fourteen at any point between 1999 and 2004 has been rehearsing for this without realising. A Britney hen party dance class in Brighton takes that buried muscle memory and gives it somewhere to go — a routine your instructor writes themselves and then cuts to fit whoever walks in, rather than a set piece pulled off a shelf. Ninety minutes, £175 plus the venue, in a room we hire around town or at your hen house.

Date first.
Argue about eras after.

All the form really wants is a date and a rough number. Which single the group ends up building towards, and whether anybody commits to a hair flick, stays open until the day itself. Someone gets back to you within the day with what's available, the room and the flat cost.

  • £150 plus the venue buys the hour; £175 plus the venue buys ninety minutes
  • Nothing on the invoice changes if four more hens say yes

Nostalgia that comes with choreography attached.

The music does the recruiting

Most themes have to win a room over. This one doesn't bother — the intro of any of the big singles is enough, and the hens who claimed they'd be sitting this out are usually mouthing the words before the warm-up finishes. That instant recognition is genuinely useful: nobody spends the first twenty minutes deciphering the count, so the learning starts immediately. It's one of the reliable performers on our Brighton hen party themes list for exactly that reason, particularly for groups who all met at school or university.

Whoever teaches you, writes it

We deliberately don't keep a house version of this routine. Each instructor builds their own and then reworks it around the party in front of them, which is why two groups booking the same theme on the same weekend end up with visibly different classes. A confident room gets levels, direction changes and something ambitious in the last chorus; a shy room gets more repetition, cleaner lines and a great deal more encouragement. Chair sections, a front line, a moment for the bride — all available, none of it promised, all of it decided once your teacher can see who they're working with.

Where groups go from here

Parties who want the era widened out beyond one artist move to the 2000s theme; those who want more voices and more attitude in the mix pick Spice Girls. And a decent number of hens who'd never set foot in a studio before turn up afterwards at our Brighton dance classes, having realised at a hen do dance class that they can, in fact, learn choreography.

–Roughly how it goes

The ninety,
very loosely mapped.

A warm-up to wake up shoulders and hips, then choreography arriving in small pieces — eight counts at a time, repeated until the room stops looking at its feet. Sections get joined, the music goes on full, and somewhere in the last stretch most teachers add whatever staging the group has appetite for. Treat every line of that as indicative: the running order is never promised in advance, and each instructor paces their own class the way they see fit.

Fifteen of us who last danced together in a student union in 2006. It was extremely funny for about ten minutes and then, disconcertingly, we got quite good.

Our teacher clocked immediately that half the room was terrified and half wanted a challenge, and somehow served both. No idea how.
MabliHen party of 8 · Brighton+
Small group, one hour, absolutely worth it.
OrlaHen party of 17 · Peacehaven+
The bride's mum turned up in a baseball cap having decided she was doing the whole thing. She was better than most of us. We have the video and it gets played at every family occasion now, which the bride has mixed feelings about.

Britney, answered.

Booking a hen party activity for twenty adults raises questions. Here they are, answered.

Are you teaching the actual music-video routines?+

The class is inspired by that era rather than affiliated with anyone, and your teacher choreographs their own version — recognisable in spirit, built for a room of beginners rather than for professional dancers. Which tracks it uses is their call on the day.

Nobody in our group has ever taken a dance class.+

That's the standard starting point and no experience is required. Everything comes in short chunks with a lot of repetition, and the instructor sets the level by looking at the room rather than by working through a syllabus. Confidence usually arrives around the twenty-minute mark.

What should we turn up in?+

Trainers and something you can move in. If the group wants crop tops, pink, or a wall of baseball caps that's entirely your business — we don't hire out, lend or sell clothing, footwear or accessories, so anything themed arrives with you.

Is it a workout?+

Moderately. You'll warm up properly, you'll be moving for most of it, and you'll want water. Anyone with an injury or a bump should mention it at the start and the teacher will adjust rather than exclude.

Does the bride get singled out?+

Only with her blessing. A featured moment is on the table for every class and plenty of brides wave it away in favour of hiding in the middle. Tell the teacher what she'd prefer and it's arranged that way without ceremony.

What happens to the price if we grow to twenty-five?+

Absolutely nothing. Ninety minutes stays £175 plus the venue and the hour stays £150 plus the venue, no matter the headcount — we book a bigger hired room and carry on. It's a whole-group figure for the dance hen party rather than a charge per person.

Which rooms do you use?+

Four we hire around the city: Madeira Drive on the seafront, North Road in North Laine near the station, Mermaid Walk at the Marina and Montpelier Road at the Hove end. Yours is matched to your numbers and confirmed when the date is agreed — or we come out to your hen house anywhere in Sussex.
